Ruhrfestspiele

Glass reveals and withholds at the same time. As transparent overlays, R and F settle over gestures and faces. The shift between clear photography and broken views ties together posters, programme and the small companions of a festival visit.
Self-initiated design concept for 2027, not an official commission from the Ruhrfestspiele. The work shows concept applications, not festival media that were produced.
Images and mockup bases were created with AI; design, typography and logo were composited afterwards. The historical spread draws on how the Ruhrfestspiele grew out of the exchange of coal for theatre in 1946/47. The schedule shows a selection of documented 2026 productions as a look back, not an announced programme for 2027. The accompanying dance image is an AI-generated campaign visual, not a photograph of any of the productions listed.
The poster with information block, website, social set and motion piece are my own designs. The dates, 1 May to mid-June 2027, follow what ruhrfestspiele.de states; exact dates and ticket sales had not been announced there yet. The reeded glass in the motion piece is calculated locally, not generated.
